Mission:
“To be a religious community that fosters liberal, religious living through worship, study, service and fellowship in order to make a difference in ourselves, our community, and our world”
About the UUCLC:
The Unitarian Universalist Community of Lake County (UUCLC) was founded in the Fall of 1999 by religious liberals seeking to establish a spiritual community in the beautiful mountains of Lake County, California. Worship is held every Sunday at 10:00 a.m.. and is predominately lay-led. Speakers are brought in on a regular basis, and members, friends and children are encouraged to become active in the worship process.
The UUCLC is part of a long heritage that goes back hundreds of years to courageous people who struggled for freedom in thought and faith. Outstanding Unitarian Universalists include John Adams, Clara Barton, Oliver Wendell Holmes, Louisa May Alcott, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Susan B. Anthony, Adlai Stevenson, Eliot Richardson, and Whitney Young.
Our community is self-governing. Authority and responsibility are vested in the membership of the UUCLC. We adopt our own bylaws, elect officers, and approve budgets. Every member is encouraged to take part in community activities.
