UUCLC Lending Library

The mission of the UUCLC Lending Library is to serve as a resource for deeper understanding of the Unitarian Universalist faith and to present our congregation with reading material from a variety of spiritual traditions. Look for the rolling cart full of books in the main hall on Sundays. The UUCLC Lending Library blog is at http://uuclc.org/category/uuclc-lending-library/.

Collection Development Policy
Here is the official collection development policy of the UUCLC Lending Library, approved May 1, 2011 by the UUCLC Governing Board. The policy was created by library student/volunteer administrator Cynthia Parkhill for credit toward a class in library collection development. An assigned component of the policy was its approach to challenges brought by patrons against the suitability of items in the lending library.

Book of the Month
Each month, the lending library promotes a title from its collection as its “Book of the Month.” The Book of the Month archives contain PDF documents for some of the featured books, viewable with free Adobe Reader software and formatted for print-out and distribution on 8 1/2-by-11-inch paper.

For more information

Here is a letter-fold brochure that explains how to check out books from the UUCLC Lending Library. You will need Adobe Reader software to view this PDF file. This brochure is also available each Sunday at the welcome table in the main hall.
